Temporary Red Line Partial Closure & Aug Bk Hol Service Info

This August Bank Holiday weekend there will be some changes to Luas services on the Red and Green Lines.

On the Luas Red Line, temporary partial closures will be in place to facilitate essential engineering works on Sat 31st Jul, Sun 1st Aug, and Bank Holiday Mon 2nd Aug. Services will run Sunday Operating Hours on Bank Holiday Mon 2nd Aug. Further information on these works is outlined below. Please be advised these works may be noisy at times in some areas.

On the Luas Green Line, services will not be impacted by the Red Line engineering works. Services will run as normal on Sat 31st Jul and Sun 1st Aug. Trams will run Sunday Operating Hours and Frequency on Bank Holiday Mon 2nd Aug.

The changes to Luas services over the August Bank Holiday weekend are outlined below. Please plan ahead and allow additional time for travel if you are travelling with Luas over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Sat 31st Jul

Luas Red Line service info:

  • There will be no trams running between Heuston and Connolly / The Point.
  • Trams will run between Tallaght / Saggart and Heuston only.
  • A replacement bus service will serve affected Stops between Heuston and The Point  A valid Luas ticket or Leap Card is required to use the replacement bus service.
  • Services between Tallaght / Saggart and Heuston will run normal Saturday Operating Hours and Frequency.

Luas Green Line service info:

  • The Luas Green Line will not be affected by the Red Line engineering works. Green Line services will run normal Saturday Operating Hours and Frequency.

Sun 1st Aug

Luas Red Line service info:

  • There will be no trams running between Smithfield and Connolly / The Point.
  • Trams will run between Tallaght / Saggart and Smithfield only.
  • A replacement bus service will continue to serve Luas Stops between Heuston and The Point. A valid Luas ticket or Leap Card is required to use the replacement bus service.
  • Services between Tallaght / Saggart and Smithfield will run normal Sunday Operating Hours.

Luas Green Line service info:

  • The Luas Green Line will not be affected by the Red Line engineering works. Green Line services will run normal Sunday Operating Hours and Frequency.

Bank Holiday Mon 2nd Aug

Luas Red Line service info:

  • There will be no trams running between Smithfield and Connolly / The Point.
  • Trams will run between Tallaght / Saggart and Smithfield only.
  • A replacement bus service will continue to serve Luas Stops between Heuston and The Point. A valid Luas ticket or Leap Card is required to use the replacement bus service.
  • Services between Tallaght / Saggart and Smithfield will run Sunday Operating Hours due to the Bank Holiday.

Luas Green Line service info:

  • The Luas Green Line will not be affected by the Red Line engineering works. Green Line services will run Sunday Operating Hours and Frequency due to the Bank Holiday.

Both the Red and Green Lines will run as normal from first tram on Tue 3rd Aug.
