Take Luas to Dublin City Winter Lights
The ‘Dublin City Council Dublin Winter Lights’ festival, a Dublin City Council Initiative, will take place from Friday 29 November to Tuesday 31 December in 18 different locations in Dublin City Centre.
Once again this festival comes to fill the centre of our city with spectacular projections of lights and colours that people of all ages can enjoy.
The Christmas Spirit and the colourful lights envelop emblematic places, bridges, trees, buildings, and Merrion Square Park in an experience that you cannot miss. You can find more information by clicking here.
Using Luas Park & Ride Car Parks
There are six Luas Park & Ride Car Parks across the Red and Green Luas Lines. Luas Park & Rides are on the Luas Green Line at Carrickmines, Stillorgan, and Balally Luas Stops, and on the Luas Red Line at Cheeverstown, Tallaght, and Red Cow Luas Stops.
Luas Park & Ride locations will be busy on each day of Christmas period, so please allow plenty of time for travel and car share if possible if you are parking at a Luas Park & Ride. Please note; pre-booking facilities for Luas Park & Rides will not be available on each of the above dates and spaces will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Further information on using Luas Park & Rides, including how to pay for car parking, is available here.
Trams will be busy with commuters and regular users of Luas on these days, so please give yourself plenty of time for travel. Use a TFI Leap Card to quickly Touch On and Off at the stops and avoid queuing for the Ticket Machines. If you don’t have a TFI Leap Card, we recommend that you buy a return ticket.
Luas trams will be running until 00:30 Monday to Saturday and until 23:30 on Sunday, and here you can find information on Luas services over Christmas and the New Year, including Night Luas services. Download the official free Luas Android or iPhone App for real time passenger information and updates.
