Luas and ICHH Shoebox Appeal

04 December '17

The Christmas ads are on the TV, the Christmas lights are turned on in Dublin’s Fair City, the Christmas gifts are being dreamed about …. But the best gift you could give this Christmas is to the Homeless and we are making it easy for you to do so.

Transdev, Luas operator and volunteer homeless organisation Inner City Helping Homeless,
have teamed up again this year.

We want the public to donate a Shoebox of gifts to the Homeless this Christmas.

Please donate your Shoebox on: Thursday December 14th2017 at Connolly Luas Stop, from 7am to 7pm.

Ideas for a Shoebox are:

  • Socks, Underwear, hats, scarves, gloves, wrapped sweets, chocolates and toiletries.
  • No perishable food, no aerosols, perfumes, aftershave, mouth wash or hand sanitiser. ( thanks )

Last year over 20,000 shoeboxes were donated.

They filled a whole Luas - hence the name #fillaluas

They were distributed by ICHH to the Homeless directly and to the many charities and agencies working with the Homeless in Dublin, Cork and around the country.

This Christmas we want to smash last year’s record: we want more shoeboxes!
