Luas Service Update

07 February '18
News story image

With the opening of the Green Line extension to Broombridge we have significantly expanded the Luas network and service. A large number of extra passengers are using these new services.

There has been some reduction in service on the Green and Red lines since the opening of the extension. This is due to availability of trams and high passenger numbers at peak times. We will continue to review the service and make any minor changes we can to improve the service. However, you will see a noticeable change in service when 7 new 55m trams come into service over the next few months. The first of the new longer trams started passenger service on Wed 7th Feb. It has been added into the morning peak services to boost capacity. Six more new 55m trams will come into passenger service over the next few months.

We know lots of you depend on Luas Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI). In December, due the integration of new systems for the extension, we had some technical issues with our Apps and Website RTPI. These issues have been fixed and the Apps and Website RTPI is working accurately now. However, we are having some issues with our Lineside RTPI but we are very close to having these fixed.

We know these issues have affected you and we apologise for this inconvenience. Thank you for your patience and continued support at this time. We will continue to update you when we have any new information.
